In the heart of Brazil, in the Center-West of Goiás, 180 km from the capital Brasília, we can find Fazenda Bagagem. Managed by the Orioli family, it has been producing 150 hectares of coffee since 2007, focusing on specialty coffees, with sustainable production practices that have earned them the UTZ Sustainability certification, Rainforest Alliance and BSCA - Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association. n the region, the ideal natural resources for coffee production abound :climate, soil, rainfall and altitudes. Located at an altitude of 1050-1100 meters, the harvest begins in June and lasts until August/September. After being carefully processed, the coffee dries in terraces and suspended terraces on the farm itself, where it is also stored in wooden bins before being bagged. In the words of owner Álvaro Orioli, “Goiás is a region with an excellent climate for coffee production. The fruit ripens more slowly, concentrates sugars, has a fruity aroma and, in some cases, even floral aromas, which is something that is much sought after in coffee”.
